What we want

· Continuing commitment and action to eradicate all fuel poverty by 2016

· Substantially increased capital funding for energy efficiency measures in low income homes

· Energy efficiency grants for all energy efficiency measures for all low income homes

· Building and environmental health standards for energy efficiency raised to achieve affordable warmth in all homes

· No disconnections for households with fuel payment difficulties

· A clear Charter of Rights for all fuel consumers

· Heating benefits for households unable to afford adequate warmth

· Legal responsibility for fuel suppliers and landlords not to contribute to or exacerbate fuel poverty problems

· No taxes or unfair increases on fuel prices that adversely affect low income households

What we do

Fuel poverty arises when people have insufficient income to heat their homes to the standard required for comfort and health.

· We campaign locally and nationally on issues relating the fuel needs of poor consumers

· We keep MPs and policy makers aware of fuel poverty and the work of the Campaign

· We research and publish policy documents to promote discussion on fuel poverty issues to influence legislative change and reform of public and private sector policies

· We publish a quarterly newsletter, Fuel News, which keeps members and subscribers up to date with information about all aspects of energy policy

· We organise conferences and events for our membership and the general public to promote a wider awareness of fuel poverty problems, issues and solutions
